STORY

A bus takes care to get plenty of fresh air.

The Mercedes-Benz Citaro is known for innovation and quality. He was, for example, one of the first to hit the streets in the Euro VI format. The special quality pays in the long run for customers who pay attention to the entire bus life cycle. With a series of cooler grilles, we ensure that the Citaro doesn’t run out of air.

Distinctly improves the air supply.

A well-cooled engine consumes less fuel. And our cooler grilles do just that. They satisfy engines’ rising requirements with regard to air supply, providing ample cooling in the process. With an Rv 4-5 perforation in the 0.7 mm thick metal, we achieved an air throughput of 58.05%. The profile is shaped like a trapezoid to ensure particularly high stability and an enlarged surface area, which in turn increases the air throughput. For the various Citaro models, we supply the cooler grilles in sizes ranging from 337 × 137 mm to 1,200 × 1,350 mm. Since the grilles are made of 1.4301 stainless steel, neither stone chipping nor the weather can cause them to rust.

Further developed and delivered ready for assembly.

Our team is always a step ahead when it comes to the task at hand and develops components in collaboration with our customers. This means fewer steps until installation is complete. For example, the cooler grilles for EvoBus feature rivet holes and a cut-out for the lock. EvoBus can rivet the supplied parts to the frame without further preparation. And in terms of coating, we bow to our Mannheim customer’s wishes and supply coated or uncoated parts as required. We are now processing an order for a further component that is to be used as a splash guard. This means that we supply a multitude of different components – in small quantities if required, for example with replacement parts orders.

The solution at a glance.

  • Cooler grille made of stainless steel 1.4301
  • Trapezoid shape for high stability
  • Perforation Rv 4-5
  • Air throughput of 58.05%
  • Size range from 337 × 137 mm to 1,200 × 1,350 mm
  • Ready for assembly
