SOLVARO reduces oil consumption in forming plant by 60 per cent.

Kirchheim/Teck, November 2010: SOLVARO GmbH, the developer and manufacturer of components made of perforated and non-perforated metal, has managed to cut lubricant consumption in its works by 60 per cent. A new minimal lubrication system and a reduction of the oil types used not only achieves significant cost savings, but also reduces the amount of special waste and results in cleaner working places.

2.5-litres-less oil per ton of plate

The new minimum lubrication system applies oil to the sheet at a speed of 30.5 m/min in SOLVARO GmbH’s production facility. A precisely preprogrammed quantity of oil flows through a series of electronically controlled magnetic valves. Various set-ups ensure the lubrication given is perfect for further processing. ‘By introducing the new lubrication system and reducing the oil types used from eleven to three, we have made economical and ecological progress in this area,’ explains SOLVARO’s CEO Gerhard Bullinger. He was responsible for the ‘Save oil’ project. Since then, the company’s entire workforce has been included in reviewing working methods, obtaining machines and reducing oil types, and so far an amazing 30,000 litres of oil have been saved.

Individual solutions call for innovative procedures

In metal perforation, as is generally the case in forming technology, lubrication is what sets the technical limits. ‘Our claim to offer every customer the perfect solution also includes the right lubrication method, because this also influences the quality of the finished product and manufacturing efficiency. So we develop an individual set-up of lubrication method and material for every single order. For instance, if an item is to be further processed, and therefore has to be residue-free in a very short period of time, we will use a fast-evaporating oil,’ he adds. This customised procedure does not rule out the sustainable use of resources in production. A look at SOLVARO’s production facility provides the proof: there’s no cash lying on the floor here in the form of special waste.

SOLVARO – there’s always a metal-made solution.

SOLVARO provides engineering and development services and produces perforated plates and non-perforated metal components for industrial customers. Applying its expertise and flexibility, SOLVARO finds ideal, individual solutions for the complex requirements of industrial customers. SOLVARO has its roots in a well-known name: MEVACO – the company that stands for the production and sales of perforated plates and textured sheeting throughout Europe. The industrial division of MEVACO, MEVACO Industrie, became SOLVARO GmbH, an independent company, on 1 January 2008. For more information, visit www.solvaro.com.
