The SOLVARO Foundation is now helping children directly

The SOLVARO Foundation for placing orphans in families, which is active in Hungary, has expanded its commitment. Unfortunately, the government support for foster families that take in orphans is rather meagre there. In particular, families that take in several children or challenged children need extra aid. Until now, the foundation provided lump-sum support to the families, which made it practically impossible to guarantee long-term supervision tailored to the individual needs of each child.  This is why a social worker on the foundation payroll will now be there to support the families. Wherever help is needed, she will provide assistance.  For example, she can support children with health problems, developmental disorders, school-related matters or talent promotion – and even those looking for a job. The parents are also invited to seek the supervisor's advice when they have issues that require attention. Our message to these children and their foster families: You are not alone!

Care counters trauma

After the painful loss of their parents, these children must learn how it feels to be alone. They feel this trauma deeply. The foundation's work aims to soothe their pain. In order to help each individual child more quickly, we have decided to hire a social worker. She visits the children each week and provides in-depth, personal supervision orientated to the children's everyday problems. If this assistance is to be effective, the foster parents must agree to a constructive partnership. Particularly needy families have been selected for the programme; ones that have taken six foster children into their home at a time, for example. With lots of love, security and clear rules, the children will hopefully develop self-confidence. We want them to feel that society needs them and that equal opportunity also exists for them.

A social worker employed by the foundation is now looking after the children and supports the families.
